WA: 2016 Events

Dinner

The Perth subcommittee of FALS organised a very successful dinner on Thursday 20 October.
The event was held at the University of WA Club under the auspices of the UWA Law School.
The Club put on a magnificent French themed 4 course degustation menu, accompanied by delicious wines from Bordeaux, in one of the Club’s private dining rooms.
The wines were presented in authentic French accents, culminating in a talk by Thierry Rodari who owns an intimate wine bar in Fremantle specialising in the wines of France.
32 enthusiastic Francophiles attended the event, which was marked by a typically relaxed and friendly West Australian ambiance.

Launch Event

On 11 May 2016, FALS held its inaugural event in Perth at the new city campus of Curtin University’s Law School.  Guests enjoyed learning more about FALS over French wine and cheese and were treated to an interesting talk by Professor Gerard Carney, a Professor of Law at Curtin University, on the French exploration of Western Australia

This event marks an exciting new expansion of FALS in Australia and the Society looks forward to welcoming new members in Perth.
