Presentation: “CHEVAL BLANC AND YELLOWTAIL
– How wine law dictates marketing in France and Australia.”
by the Hon. Justice James Douglas
FALS in Queensland recently held its first event, a presentation by Hon. Justice James Douglas, Judge Supreme Court Queensland, on two things dear to many of our hearts: law and wine. Justice Douglas’s topic was: “Cheval Blanc and Yellowtail – how wine law dictates marketing in France and Australia.”
The presentation was held at Brisbane’s oldest surviving home, Newstead Park, which is 170 years’ old. Newstead Park is beautifully furnished and maintained, and overlooks the magnificent river.
Around 20 guests had the pleasure of hearing an interesting paper by Hon. Justice James Douglas on the distinctions of French and Australian wines. Guests also enjoyed drinks and canapés on the balcony, including lovely pâté and French cheeses.
