French Australian Lawyers Society
FALS is a non-profit organisation, which brings together lawyers who have an interest in the French and Australian legal systems and cultures.

After several years as an informal association, the French Australian Lawyers Society (FALS) was established formally in 2013, when it held its first formal event in Sydney at the French Consulate.

In 2014, FALS launched its first networking event in the Melbourne legal precinct. The honorary consul introduced the Society to the members of the legal profession attending.
Since then FALS has been holding successful events every year in its various locations including seminars on French and European Union law.

For Bastille Day, FALS also organises themed events as well as dinners for its members and friends in French restaurants, providing a perfect opportunity to get to know each other in a more intimate setting.
FALS also organises events with other associations such as FACCI and other foreign lawyers associations, which allows our members to network with a wider group of legal professionals.

For example, the Asian Australian Lawyers Association, President Reynah Tang, the French Australian Lawyers Society, President Marie Wilkening-Le Brun and the Italian Australian Lawyers Association, Mr Vincent Morfurni QC attended Parliament House in Canberra on 2 May 2016 to discuss the issue of inclusion of lawyers from multi-cultural backgrounds for judicial positions to reflect the rich mix of Australians as it is today.

FALS members are lawyers admitted in either Australia or France as well as those studying, practising, teaching or researching French or Australian law.
We invite you to join our network and benefit from networking opportunities with French-speaking lawyers and Francophiles in our different locations and makeg new connections and friendships.
